Classes & Workshops
Each month we offer a brand new schedule of classes which open for registration on the 1st Thursday of the preceding month at 9am. Check out the classes on the card below, or scroll on to view the classes by level.
Classes
Beginner I Wheel Throwing
Come and learn the basics of wheel throwing in a relaxed small group setting. These lessons will focus on wheel control, hand positioning, centering clay, glaze application and the use of basic tools. By the end of this 4- week course, students will have created 4 functional pieces to take home. All materials will be provided. Shoes and clothes will get messy.
Beginner II Wheel Throwing
For students who have completed the Beginner I Wheel Throwing Course.
This course will allow the student to expound upon their basic throwing skills and will focus on centering larger amounts of clay, handling mugs, trimming, and glazing techniques. All materials will be provided. Shoes and clothes will get messy.
Intermediate I Wheel Throwing
For students who have completed Beginner 2 or have equivalent wheel experience.
This course is designed for potters ready to work with larger amounts of clay and more complex forms. Instruction will focus on centering and throwing at scale, pulling handles, trimming, and refining glazing techniques. All materials will be provided. Shoes and clothes will get messy.
November Dinnerware 6-Week Wheel Throwing
Mondays in November/December | 5:30PM
For students who have completed Beginner 2 or have equivalent wheel experience.
This course will allow the student to expound upon their basic skills and will focus on creating a matching tableware set for 2. Each set will include a Dinner Plate, Salad Plate, Everyday Bowl and Coffee Mug.
NEW Advanced 1 Wheel Throwing
Sundays in October | 5:30PM
For students who have completed Intermediate 1 or 2 or have equivalent wheel experience.
This course is designed to enable our more practiced potters to enhance their skill level by exploring more advanced forms and techniques. Students will focus on throwing and constructing closed forms and moon jars, while continuing to refine their throwing and trimming skills. All materials will be provided. Shoes and clothes will get messy.
Handbuilding 1
Wednesdays | 5:30PM
Come and learn the oldest method of building with clay. These lessons will focus on advancing your basic hand-building techniques such as pinch, coil, and slab building. Students will gain a better understanding of the clay lifecycle by working on larger scale pieces with additive and subtractive processes.

This 1x wheel throwing workshop is for people who have no experience but want a general introduction of what it’s like to throw pottery.
